Counseling

“When we open to our feelings without judgment or story, they move through us like a rainstorm, leaving us refreshed.”

JACK KORNFIELD

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I see my primary role is helping you bring awareness to what is really true for you; providing empathetic space for acceptance of your experience; and to foster your inner resources to take action for lasting positive change. When appropriate I incorporate alternative modalities that support talk therapy.

I specialize in Recovery work.

If you feel overwhelmed or diminished by challenging circumstances, addiction or trauma — counseling opens the door to successful change. Recovery gives us the opportunity to show up differently for ourselves and in our relationships. Recovering your true self opens the way to living the joy of your own true nature.

I can teach you how to know and make choices based on what you want and need.  I can help you no longer feel like a slave to your emotions or like you just don’t know what to do anymore, suffering from over-feeling and under-validating of SELF. Emotions are experienced in the body. Stuck emotions and trauma exist in the nervous system.  I emphasize attention and presence to help you improve your relationship with your own body, to move beyond stuckness (what I call “shame, blame and same”) and not only resolve trauma, but reconnect with what it is to feel good in body, mind, and spirit.
